Travel disruption due to the Icelandic ash cloud meant that Mark Freeman was unable to attend the conference in person, but gave his keynote speach via the internet with the help of a combination of technologies, in particular Wimba Classroom. We are grateful to John Beaumont-Kerridge of the University of Bedfordshire for establishing this link at short notice.
