Graduates with Impact 
through excellence in business education

The Sixth Annual Conference of the Business Management Accountancy and Finance (BMAF) Network was held at the Menzies Carlton and Eastcliff Hotels, Bournemouth on 10th and 11th May 2011. This year's event was run in conjunction with the Business School at Bournemouth University.

Graduates With Impact is one of the top priorities for the UK Higher Education Academy, along with Flexible Learning and Raising the Profile of Teaching and Learning. For QAA Scotland, ‘Graduates of the 21st Century' is the current overarching enhancement theme, and many colleagues are involved in ‘graduate attribute projects toward ensuring our students go on to offer a substantial contribution to society.

Our 2011 Annual Conference provided an opportunity for those in business education to share innovative practice in UK and worldwide higher education relating to this important theme. The conference featured discussion papers, workshops, discussion groups and posters on the following themes:

• The Impact of Graduates as Global Citizens;
• Graduate Impact on Enterprise, Entrepreneurship and Innovation;
• Graduate Impact through Subjects, Disciplines and Professions;
• Ensuring Graduate Impact through Innovation in Curriculum Design;
• Delivering Impact through Graduate Attributes

As always, the BMAF Conference offered a varied programme of discussion papers, workshops, plenary and panel sessions, posters, drinks reception and a dinner, as well as informal networking spaces.
