Assessment and feedback
Our work on assessment and feedback supports the sector, as we advise on policy and strategy, develop resources and coordinate a series of activities to identify and share effective practice.
We work with institutions and their students to improve their approaches to assessment and feedback, including emphasising the importance of assessment for learning. Our new publication, A Marked Improvement provides a strong rationale for transforming assessment in higher education and an assessment review tool to take stock of current practice and look to a targeted approach to strategic change. The work in assessment and feedback covers academic integrity, as we promote educational strategies that can be used to address the issues of student plagiarism, and we recommend on policy and practice in the field. We support research and development work on external examining, and have produced a handbook for external examining (PDF, 1.58MB).
