Board of Directors
Our Board of Directors meets on a quarterly basis. It also meets in an 'away day' setting once a year, to discuss future strategy in greater depth.
The Board's decisions are primarily based on advice and information in papers put forward by the Academy's Executive. The Board meets in private but its minutes are published on the website, with the exception of those containing sensitive or confidential information. Minutes will be published following their approval by the Board.
Constituency and membership
We have 13 Directors and trustees representing a wide range of interests. The composition of the Board is determined by the Company's Articles of Association.
Four are appointed jointly by UUK and GuildHE; two are appointed jointly by the four funding bodies in higher education; six are appointed by the Board itself for expertise or professional experience in or beyond higher education to ensure a suitably diverse range of skills and expertise to meet the requirements of the organisation; and a further two are appointed by the Board following consultation with the National Union of Students (NUS) and the National Postgraduate Committee (NPC).
