Simulation Games and Role-Play Workshop

DATE: 8 Jun 2009
LOCATION/VENUE: University of Plymouth Business School, UK

Description

This workshop, hosted by the University of Plymouth Business School, builds on a previous event of June 2008. It aims to extend discussion and debate on how business academics can use simulation games and role-play (SGRP) methods for teaching and learning.

The objectives are to:

  • present short illustrations of both computerised and non-computerised games;
  • establish the extent to which SGRP’s can contribute to achievement of intended learning outcomes; and
  • stimulate discussion of the practical implications of teaching with SGRP’s, particularly how to overcome the barriers to using such learning platforms.

The event is targeted at HEI teachers who are current users of SGRP and those considering these approaches for learning in business and management education.
