Joint workshop: ABS, BMAF, Aschcroft International Business School.

Assessment can be seen to have two key roles in the learning process:

firstly, to motivate and orientate student learning in terms of time and focus of study and, through feedback help students to monitor the quality of their work and provide guidance on how to improve;

secondly, and arguably the dominant role of assessment practice in the UK, the measurement of student learning for all stakeholders. 

Using the experience of participants to illustrate understandings from the literature, this workshop will focus on assessment for learning and examine principles of effective assessment and feedback to improve practice and thereby student satisfaction, academic performance and engagement.
