Workshop for New and Aspiring Business Academics

Description

This workshop aims to bring together those recently appointed to or considering an academic post in business education to explore and discuss current and future opportunities, challenges and support needs.

This workshop is for: Recently appointed business academics, associates, post-docs and any considering such a post.

Activities:

  • Share outcomes of the BMAF new lecturers project – ‘The 21st Century Business Academic’
  • Discuss what Academic Practice means in the context of business disciplines and how it may develop in the future.
  • Consider the changing contexts – research/teaching balance, diversity, student numbers – and the relevant initial and continuing development needs and expectations of participants.
  • Contribute to the development of ‘Open for Business’ Open Educational Resources (OER) *For this purpose part or all of the event will be recorded with video, audio and/or photography*

Application: Places on this event are limited.

20 travel bursaries – first come first served. Up to £50 will be reimbursed to the first 20 people to book on provision of receipts
