BMAF Workshop: Academic Research - What it really is and why it is like Guinness... it is good for you

DATE: 21 Jan 2010
LOCATION/VENUE: University of Ulster, Jordanstown campus

Description

This joint BMAF/University of Ulster organised workshop addresses a wide range of issues which are necessary to understand in order to conduct quality research.

Among these are the need to set up your research activities so that there is the greatest prospects of success. It is important to understand the structure of formally reporting research findings. To achieve this a research proposal and research protocol is required.

The seminar looks at many of the different options and choices which academics may select from. Among the topics discussed are different approaches to data types, collection, management and the use of software for analysis.  How to finish off a piece of research for either a degree or for a published paper is also addressed.
