22 Apr 08 - ABS / BMAF event - Enhancing assessment and feedback: an evidence-based response

DATE: 22 Apr 2008
LOCATION/VENUE: Aston Business School

Description

A one day workshop for all business school senior managers with an interest in improving assessment and feedback practice, hosted by colleagues from a Centre for Excellence in assessment and an FDTL project, 'Engaging students with feedback'.
ABS and the Higher Education Academy subject Centre for Business, Management, Accountancy and Finance (BMAF) present an event aimed at improving assessment and feedback practice. As a key driver of student learning it is important that our assessment practices are effective and efficient, and yet it is clear from the literature, the NSS and more recently the Burgess Report that this is not the case in most contexts. This one day workshop will draw on the work of ASKe, a Centre for Excellence in assessment and an FDTL project, 'Engaging students with assessment feedback'. Participants will be invited to explore the myths and evidence-based understandings that impact on assessment and feedback and consider ways in which to improve NSS results and student learning. BOOK through the ABS website.
