This seminar is part of the Academy's Evidence-based Practice Seminar Series 2010 and is offered by the Higher Education Academy and its Business, Management, Accountancy and Finance Subject Centre, and the University of Wales, Newport.

Following the seminar, a briefing paper on “employer responsive learning” will be developed with associated links to project webpages and podcasts featuring student, staff and employer experiences.
The programme is below:-
o 10.15am – 10.45am: Registration
o 10.45am – 11.00am: Welcome
o 11.00am – 11.30am The importance of leadership and management to an organisation: an employers perspective
o 11.30am – 12noon: Case study presentation: Graham Review funded project on employer responsive learning in leadership and management with achieved outputs and posing key developmental questions
o 12noon – 12.45pm: Small group discussions focusing on “What are the key developmental challenges in employer responsive learning?”
o 12.45pm – 1.45pm: Lunch with exhibition featuring examples of employer engagement and work-related learning from around the University and partners.
o 1.45pm – 2.45pm: Thematic (learning approaches, technology, curriculum, people) seminar sessions using outputs from morning discussion sessions
o 2.45pm – 3.15pm: Feedback and summary
