DATE: 18 May 2011
LOCATION/VENUE: University of Lancaster, UK

Description

Theme: The Future of Project Management Education?

The session aims to explore apparent options that will affect how project management education may develop in the future. The objectives are to investigate what are the influences and drivers apparent to project management education in higher education. Specifically, this will address the impact of changes to funding models, university imperatives relating to research-led teaching and other learning and teaching approaches. The approach will be through dynamic debate about these issues. By the end of the session participants will have gained a better understanding of and developed some ideas for enhancing project management learning and teaching through:

  • identifying the range of issues affecting the future of project management education;
  • sharing views and experiences about providing project management education; and
  • deciding how PMnetwork should represent the PM education community in the future.
