Since 2005, fifty-six Teaching, Research and Development Grants (TRDGs) have been awarded by BMAF, involving academics and practitioners from thirty-nine different Higher Education Institutions. Download Details of Grant Holders (38kb .xls)

Between 2001 and 2005, a further seventeen grants were awarded by the BEST/BMA subject centre.

All seventy-three of these grants have made a significant contribution to improving the student experience, have provided a wealth of resources to support learning and teaching, and have influenced the professional practice of the grant holders and the institutions who supported them.

The reports from each of the grants are available at the Teaching Research and Development Grants Page.

Each year grant holders are asked to focus on the key issues facing Higher Education and these have included:

  • internationalisation
  • assessment
  • employability
  • teaching and learning
  • student experience
  • staff development

Grant holders are encouraged to publish a paper relating to their project in the International Journal of Management Education (IJME). Several have gone on to publish in other journals specialising in pedagogic research. Most grant holders write articles for the BMAF magazine, and disseminate their findings within their own Business Schools and Universities as well as at national and international conferences. All of this has made a significant contribution to the pool of pedagogic research and provided a basis for sharing good practice and innovative ideas in learning and teaching.
