The BMAF Network serves to help all discipline groups and staff in this field to provide the best possible learning experience for students undertaking higher education

The Tourism Management Institute is offering the chance to take part in a study tour in the Marche region of Italy.
The tour will provide the opportunity to exchange best practice in social tourism, learning from experience and from colleagues across Europe.
The Tourism Society has obtained grant funding to promote just such an exchange of knowledge between UK and European tourism training professionals with the European Union of Tourist Officers (EUTO) Study Visit, based in Ancona from 18- 25 September this year. This project is being run by Cathy Guthrie and Karen Donnelly on behalf of the Tourism Society.
UK delegates who took part in previous EUTO Study Visits to Iceland, Estonia, Malta, Latvia, Catalunya and the Netherlands have come back full of enthusiasm, inspired by the speakers and exchange of knowledge, voting the study visits excellent learning experiences.
Limited grant funding has been obtained to cover costs of attending the visit (delegate fee, flights and transport to/from London Stansted, hotel accommodation at Stansted if necessary due to flight times, transport costs in Italy and most meals). Participants must provide proof of their own travel insurance and are liable for any costs if they require to arrange this. Participants should also be aware that whilst every effort is made to ensure grant covers all costs mentioned above, they may be asked to contribute a maximum of £200 if any costs exceed grant limits.
Places are available on a first come, first served basis and on meeting the criteria set by the UK Agency and grant is conditional on participants attending for the whole study visit. UK delegates’ booking and travel arrangements are being co-ordinated by Karen Donnelly (Karen@karendonnellyassociates.co.uk) on behalf of the Tourism Society. Her details, together with information about the Study Visit, the programme and an application form are available to download from the TMI Website.
Completed and signed application forms must be returned to Karen Donnelly, Karen Donnelly Associates, 50 Dryburn Avenue, Glasgow G52 2SA as soon as possible and certainly no later than Friday 5 August.
