The BMAF Network serves to help all discipline groups and staff in this field to provide the best possible learning experience for students undertaking higher education

This project aims to elicit tutors’ perceptions of the extent to which the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) supports, or indeed enhances, the teaching-learning environment.
The data will be collected via in-depth interviews with tutors at a UK business school during the academic year 2006/2007, and will be analysed using a phenomenographic approach.
The findings would therefore highlight the manner in which tutors use and perceive the VLE, and indeed their perceptions of student engagement. Such evidence would enable tutors to reflect upon their teaching practice in order to motivate students to engage with the VLE and enhance the teaching-learning environment.
