Description

Every year the Higher Education Academy Subject Centre for Business Management Accountancy and Finance invites applications for grants to fund Teaching Research and Development Projects.

 The aim of the grants is to support and encourage pedagogic research in order to:

  • provide evidence-based examples of innovative and effective practice in learning, teaching and assessment
  • facilitate the review of current practice and the development of recommendations
  • disseminate educational methods which others might use
  • raise the profile and awareness of pedagogic research and development issues within the subject area of business management accountancy and finance.

Priority has been given to:

Topics highlighted in the Baseline Survey conducted in Summer 2007 by the BMAF Subject Centre: 

• Providing timely and good quality feedback on assessment
• Teaching international students
• Plagiarism
• Teaching large groups
• Addressing issues of recruitment and retention
• Achieving active learning in classes
• Designing creative assessment


Plus the Scottish Enhancement Themes:
• The First Year
• Research-Teaching Linkages

Plus the three Academy thematic priorities for Scotland:
• Employability
• Education for Sustainable Development
• Internationalisation

Plus the enhancement themes and priorities for Wales:
