Description
*** 4/11/2010 - This workshop has now been cancelled ***
This is the first of two national workshops for academics who teach property development on planning and regeneration courses. The aims of the workshops are to:
- Explore the boundaries between planning regeneration and property teaching
- Share best practice in the field
- Develop a network of teachers of this subject
- Inform new lecturers and extend the understanding of more experienced lecturers
- Help workshop participants to enhance graduates’ property skills
The first workshop will bring people together to discuss what they teach and how they teach it. It will use presentations from a senior practitioner and an experienced academic to prompt discussion. Each presentation will be followed by group sessions in which the participants will (i) explore the challenges of course design and delivery; and (ii) will identify possible responses that offer potential for development. The final session will identify key actions that would improve education in the subject and will provide an opportunity for participants to identify colleagues with similar interests. The actions will inform the design of the second, more developmental, workshop.
