Personal Development Planning in action: student-centred approaches and evaluating effectiveness

This second meeting of the PDP Forum in 2008-09 will incorporate two distinct elements, though we hope colleagues will be able to join us for the full day. The format for both parts of the day will be highly engaging and interactive and colleagues are invited to come suitably prepared.
The first part will be “Researching and Evaluating PDP (getting to grips with the 'does it work?' question)”, including discussion on potential research questions and considering how a Scottish PDP Research and Evaluation SIG might most effectively operate.
The afternoon will be open to staff and students from HEIs who wish to engage in “Student engagement with PDP: developing the discourse”. It will look at the student experience of PDP, consider the messages staff wish to convey about PDP, and explore proposals for practice in doing so.
