A one-day conference on Quality enhancement and assurance in Wales - a changing picture? organised by the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education and the Higher Education Academy.
This conference is for staff at higher education providers in Wales who have an interest in quality and its enhancement.
The conference is a significant component in a joint project on quality assurance and enhancement. It builds on a similar project conducted for England and Northern Ireland in 2008 (which was supported by the Higher Education Funding Council for England). The conference will present the project's findings for discussion, and aims to:
• support higher education institutions in Wales in their consideration of the purpose and role of enhancement
• explore how quality enhancement is conceptualised across the higher education sector in Wales
• provide opportunities for sharing different approaches to quality enhancement and current practice
• inform how best to support institutions in Wales in terms of quality enhancement
• provide an update on the work of the Higher Education Funding Council for Wales (HEFCW) to support the enhancement of learning opportunities in Wales.
