University of Glasgow Learning and Teaching Centre Research Seminar: Online reflection and ePortfolios: Current Perspectives

  • Date: 13 Jan 2010
  • Start Time: 02:00 pm
  • Location/venue: University of Glasgow Learning & Teaching Centre Southpark House 64 Southpark Avenue Glasgow , Scotland, G12 8LB

This seminar comprises two papers: 'The introduction of ePortfolios to the healthcare professions' (Karen Beggs NHS Education for Scotland) and 'Reflective practices as masks: thinking about online reflection in higher education' (Jen Ross, University of Edinburgh).

The first paper will discuss lessons learned from moving from small-scale pilots to full implementation, and the different ways in which portfolios can be used to support reflection, personal learning, formative and summative assessment and quality assurance.

The seconf draws on an ongoing research project looking at how students and teachers deal with issues of identity, authenticity, audience, ownership, and privacy in high-stakes online reflection in higher education.
