Institutions are increasingly involved in a wide range of external engagement activities and supporting the development needs of staff involved in these diverse activities is a challenge. This workshop provides an opportunity to discuss these issues, explore new resources and contribute to national strategy.

The workshop is part of JISC's Business & Community Engagement (BCE) Programme.

The workshop will also introduce a new online skills tool which has been developed to guide users to relevant resources based on an individual skills profile. As well as signposting to development resources from existing providers, the tool will include relevant JISC Advance resources. The tool is is being developed in partnership with relevant sector bodies, including AURIL, the IKT and PraxisUNICO, to ensure a coherent approach. The tool is based on the AURIL CPD Framework and resources are mapped to this framework.

JISC Advance resources cover a wide range of topics and today's workshop will highlight information management issues relevant to external engagement practitioners and the implications for staff development.
