Festival of Learning
- Date: 30 Mar 2010 - 31 Mar 2010
- Location/venue: Edinburgh Napier University, Scotland
The aim of the Festival is to enhance the quality of learning, teaching and assessment in Health Sciences and Practice, both in work settings and in higher education. Where appropriate, the Festival explores how national and regional issues and priorities relate to each other.
The Festival blends elements of established event formats - high profile keynote presentations, workshops, special interest groups – to provide a unique celebration of diverse approaches to education and training in the Health Sciences.
The next Festival will focus on the three themes as follows:
- Making connection - Assimilating theory and practice; developing partnerships between the NHS and HEIs and also education and employers; aiding awareness of educational policy among professional bodies
- Enhancing communication - Examining ways to strengthen communication and understanding between students and teachers. Identifying obstacles and exploring opportunities
- Developing collaboration - Facilitating service user involvement in healthcare education, supporting working partnerships between educators and technologists and promoting interprofessional education
