Supporting International Students Symposium

  • Date: 12 Jan 2011
  • Location/venue: 051 MacRobert Building, University of Aberdeen, Old Aberdeen

The event will provide opportunities for staff to hear about existing good practice from practitioners involved in all stages of the international student experience, and to discuss issues and ideas with colleagues from across the sector.

The symposium will be introduced by Professor Ian Diamond, Principal and Vice-Chancellor, University of Aberdeen. The keynote address will be given by Jude Carroll, the Associate Project Director of the Teaching International Students project. The project is a joint two year initiative between the Higher Education Academy and the United Kingdom Council for International Student Affairs (UKCISA) with funding from the Prime Minister's Initiative 2 (PMI2). The project focuses on the ways that lecturers and other teaching staff can maintain and improve the quality of teaching and learning for international students. The Presidents from both Universities' Students' Associations will provide a joint keynote presentation in the afternoon.

The event is being hosted jointly by the University of Aberdeen and the Robert Gordon University, and is supported by the Higher Education Academy.
