Surveys for Enhancement Conference

This conference will present research and practice on the use of student surveys for the improvement of learning and teaching. It will be of interest to senior managers with strategic learning and teaching roles, educational developers, policy and quality enhancement professionals, pedagogic researchers and lecturers at the chalk face.

The conference will cover a wide range of issues around the use of survey data, focusing particular on the National Student Survey. The 12 parallel sessions will cover a number of themes, including:

  • The use of qualitative data to illuminate survey scores
  • Developing and measuring student engagement
  • Institutional experiences of surveying postgraduate students

In addition to the parallel sessions, the programme includes the following two invited sessions:

  • Interpreting the students’ message: Using data from learning experience surveys”, by Professor Keith Trigwell from the University of Sydney.
  • Institutional NSS findings: From statistics to the student experience” by Gwen Van Der Velden from the University of Bath.

The conference will coincide with the launch of the HEA’s NSS Discipline Reports, which will provide detailed breakdowns of NSS scores for different student and institution characteristics, at discipline and subject level.

There is a £50 fee to attend this event.
