HEA STEM (Maths, Stats & OR): Workshop for postgraduate students who teach

This is one of a series of workshops which the Higher Education Academy (HEA) is providing for postgraduate students (PG) involved in teaching Mathematics, Statistics and Operational Research (MSOR). The workshop will be delivered by experienced academics who are subject specialists in MSOR and the content and delivery will be discipline specific.
This workshop is designed for postgraduate students who are new to teaching. The content includes topics such as:
• preparing for teaching;
• assessing students’ work;
• encouraging class participation;
• supporting students;
• facilitating problem solving classes.
The event will provide postgraduate students with the opportunity to share their experiences and to discuss teaching matters with experienced MSOR lecturers.
