Non-traditional assessment in ‘traditional’ subjects: diversifying course assignments and enabling student-led learning through e-portfolios

  • Date: 4 Apr 2012
  • Start Time: 11:00 am
  • Location/venue: Terrace Room, Grove House, University of Roehampton, Roehampton Lane, London , SW15 5PJ

This event is being hosted as part of the Higher Education Academy's Workshop and Seminar Series 2012.

Time: 11:00 - 16:00

The workshop will explore using ePortfolios in traditional subjects (classics, history, theology/religious studies, philosophy etc.) The workshop is not targeted at providing technical support which will already be available at delegates’ HEIs. Instead, we will focus upon the impact that ePortfolios can have in learning and teaching (varying modes of assessment, delivering feedback and supporting different learning styles.) The particular value of this software in enhancing employability through supporting work placement/internship modules will also be investigated. These sessions will be built around concrete examples from Roehampton Humanities courses and will also acknowledge and explore the challenges posed by using ePortfolios.
