Exploring new approaches to assessing attitudes and behaviours

  • Date: 6 Feb 2012
  • Start Time: 10:00 am
  • Location/venue: University of East Anglia, UK

This event is being hosted as part of the Higher Education Academy's Workshop and Seminar Series 2012.

Time: 10:00 - 14:00

During medical training, assessment of attitudes and behaviour is carried out using a number of well established and newly developed assessment methods. In this workshop we will be;

  • debating the validity of assessing attitudes and behaviours;
  • discussing the theory behind item types developed to measure attitudes and behaviours;
  • exploring how item types may be adapted for use in a variety of domains outside medicine.

We hope that this workshop will be of particular interest to educators involved in subject areas where there is an interest in assessing behaviours and the ability to make valid judgments in ambiguous situations, or for educators new to healthcare education.
