HEA STEM (Maths, Stats & OR): Workshop for postgraduate students who teach Mathematics, Statistics and Operational Research

This is event is being run by the Mathematics, Statistics and Operational Research discipline at the Higher Education Academy (HEA). It is open to postgraduate students throughout the UK who are involved in teaching Mathematics, Statistics and Operational Research (MSOR).
The workshop is designed for postgraduate students who are new to teaching in MSOR. It will be delivered by experienced academics who are subject specialists in MSOR and the content and delivery will be discipline specific. The content includes topics such as:
• preparing for teaching;
• assessing students’ work;
• encouraging class participation;
• supporting students;
• facilitating problem solving classes.
The event will provide postgraduate students with the opportunity to share their experiences and to discuss teaching matters with experienced MSOR lecturers.
Attendees from HEA subscribing institutions will not incur any charges. The cost for attendees from institutions that do not subscribe to the HEA is £75 per person.
