- Funding body: The Higher Education Academy
The UK Islamic Studies Network, a project of the Higher Education Academy (HEA), invites tenders to evaluate the second year of the network’s activity (2010-11).
The HEA has been funded by the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) over three years (2009-2012) to establish a network for academics working in Islamic Studies and related disciplines in UK Higher Education. The network aims to enhance teaching and learning in Islamic Studies by supporting academics working in different disciplines and institutions, particularly by providing opportunities to share good practice through events, project grants and publications.
The evaluation will focus primarily on the activity carried out in the second year of the project, including both cross-disciplinary and discipline-specific activity. In addition, the evaluation will gather views on how members would like the network to be sustained beyond the end of the funding period.
