The Subject Centre for History, Classics and Archaeology is committed to making this website user-friendly and accessible to all. We have consulted with our various communities and undertaken usability studies in order to meet the requirements of our different user groups.
We take steps to ensure our website conforms to web best practice guidelines and standards, such as the guidelines provided by the web accessibility initiative of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).

Changing the Text Size
The site is built using relative font sizes contained in a style sheet, this means that the user can adjust (or 'zoom') the text.
In Internet Explorer text-sizing is available through the View > Text Size menu.
It is also possible to adjust the text size by pressing the the 'ctrl' tab with your left hand and moving the scroll wheel on your mouse with your right.
In Mozilla and Netscape text-sizing is available through the View > Text Zoom menu.
Navigation
Website users can access all parts of the website whether they are using a screen reader or a text browser. We have included a number of other navigation aids such as a site map and A-Z facility to help you access the information you are looking for.

We have included a site map to help you access all our pages through a comprehensive A-Z facility. The A-Z includes all our web pages laid out in an easy to follow alphabetical list.
Style
The site uses style sheets to control font colours and sizes. You can override the standard settings through your web browser preferences. The settings vary from browser to browser.
