Small Grants

Small Grants provide support for individual projects, which may take the form - for example - of development of innovative teaching programmes, surveys of practice and issues, or the creation of resources for teaching (including electronic resources). Criteria for assessing projects will include the extent to which they address innovation in practice, spreading good practice, and lasting use and value for the subject community. Applicants might like to note that this year the Higher Education Academy is particularly interested in pursuing the following themes: student engagement, enhancing quality and education for sustainable development.

These awards are typically for £500-£1,000, and have a duration of up to one year. If applicants feel that £1000 might not be sufficient for their purposes they might like to consider the Teaching Development Grants which are available for higher sums.

There is no deadline for applications and applicants are welcome to apply at any time.
