    Description

    Round 4 Teaching Development Grant

In line with the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act, the University of Leicester's Archaeology Distance Learning Unit proposes a project that goes beyond mere 'reasonable changes' asked for by the DDA to produce a course that is structured specifically for the visually impaired student so that they should have access to archeological education. It is proposed that a new module of circa 10-credits is introduced "Introduction to Archaeology", specifically aimed at the visually-impaired. This will build on the University's existing material, with amendments and additions to integrate the current text into a fluid, coherent pattern which which is easily navigable for the blind or partially-sighted.
