History Dissertations: understanding and improving student learning

    Status: in progress

Funding Initiative: Teaching development fund/mini projects

    Description

    Round 4 Teaching Development Grant

The project will provide an opportunity to better understand and improve the quality and experience of students writing History dissertations in particular, in order to enhance the quality of student learning on single honours History degrees in general. The project will explore the practices of three different types of HE institutions which have a wide variety of different types of students doing history from a number of varied perspectives. The project thereby seeks to support research into the institutional infrastructure supporting dissertation supervision.
