Contemporary History
In September 2007 the Subject Centre for History, Classics and Archaeology commissioned a survey of contemporary history taught in UK higher education institutions and further education institutions offering degree level courses. Dr Vanessa Chambers reports on the results of the survey.
The University of Oxford's Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL), which is focused on "Preparing for Academic Practice", has been working with 4 HEA Subject Centres to run day-long events focused around academic practice in particular disciplines. Dr Nick Hopwood, of Oxford University's Department of Education, reports on the successful day run in conjunction with the Subject Centre for History, Classics and Archaeology.
