The Enhancement Themes initiative aims to enhance the student learning experience in Scottish higher education by identifying specific areas for development.
The unique Quality Enhancement framework was established in 2003, and has been designed to support higher education institutions in Scotland in managing the quality of the student learning experience, and to provide public confidence in the quality and standards of higher education.
The framework is coordinated by The Scottish Higher Education Enhancement Committee (SHEEC), whose members are drawn from the Scottish Funding Council (SFC), Universities Scotland , QAA Scotland, the Higher Education Academy, and the National Union of Students, Scotland. In addition, Sparqs (student participation in quality - Scotland) further assists and supports student engagement in quality assurance and enhancement activities, working closely with student associations.
The Enhancement Themes include both Current and Past Themes;
Current themes are:
Quality Cultures and Systems & Structures for Enhancement
Research-Teaching Linkages
