Volunteer Recruitment Launches for 2012 Olympics

Date: 28-July-2010

With two years to go until the opening ceremony, London 2012 has launched it's drive to recruit volunteers for the London Olympics.

The 'Games Maker' campaign is looking for skilled and unskilled volunteers for a wide variety of tasks. 'Generalists' are invited for roles ranging from stewards and radio operators to athlete escorts. 'Specialists' with specialist skills or qualifications are required to make up the games teams of doctors, nurses, sports specialists, anti-doping officers and press operations staff.

Applications open to the general public on 15 September.

A 'Games Maker' website has been launched containing all the details relating to volunteering.
