The Hospitality, Leisure, Sport & Tourism Network aims to encourage and broker the sharing of good learning and teaching practice across our subject areas of UK higher education.

LINK 26 aims to capture the innovations in learning, teaching and assessment which will be the “learning legacies” of the 2012 Olympiad.
The London Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2012 bring opportunities to enhance our curricula and the learning we offer to our students. They provide a rich source of contemporary materials for case studies and research; for critical investigation from a range of disciplinary or subject perspectives; and for illustrating or challenging concepts and theories. Perhaps most importantly, the Games can excite and inspire learners and provide a vehicle for encouraging student engagement in learning.
Contributions are now invited in areas such as:
Focus – we encourage authors to be concise and to focus upon a particular aspect or idea within their article.
Length - up to 1500 words. We are also very happy to receive shorter articles. Longer articles submitted are likely to have to be edited.
Style - LINK is an accessible publication, ie, the style should be clear, simple and informal; with references used to reflect essential further reading. It is a vehicle for the dissemination of effective practice.
Content - wherever possible, please link what you are writing to your experience, practice in your department etc. The article should be more about practice than theory. Where appropriate, reference to aspects particular to the teaching of the hospitality, leisure, sport and tourism subject areas, should also be included. Back issues of LINK provide an indication of the type of articles that we are looking for. These are available from the HLST Publications Page.
Please note that all articles submitted are subject to editing by the Hospitality, Leisure, Sport & Tourism Network. If we need to make any significant changes to your article, we will discuss these with you prior to publication.
Copy Deadline – Wednesday 20 July 2010
Please notify Sam French (01865 485809) if you would like to contribute an article for this edition or if you have any questions.
LINK 26 will be published in October 2010.
