Call for Papers: Global Change and Tourism in National Capitals

Date: 8-March-2010 

A special issue of Current Issues in Tourism.

The planned special issue of Current Issues in Tourism explore global change and tourism in national capital cities. The editor would be pleased to receive papers examining relevant issues, themes and evidence. 

These include but are not limited to:

  • representation and national image and identity;
  • the role of the built environment in image and representation;
  • city and national branding;
  • tourism and (re)emerging national capitals;
  • development of new and revived cultural events and attractions;
  • interpretation of heritage;
  • commodification;
  • changing visitor experiences;
  • development of business and special interest tourism;
  • governance.

The deadline for abstracts and expressions of interest is 30 April 2010.
