Creative Campus Initiative Receives Olympics Inspire Mark

The HEFCE-funded Creative Campus Initiative (CCI) has been awarded the Olympics Inspire Mark to support it is providing a dynamic programme of cultural activities and events in the run up to the 2012 Olympics.

The CCI is being delivered through a consortium of thirteen universities in the South East. Phase one of the CCI will culminate in a series of exhibitions, performances, research and debate in the summer of 2010.

During the next 10 months, the institutions will be commissioning new art works, research-based creative responses and critical debate which take both direct and tangential inspiration from different Olympic and Paralympic sports. Historical, cultural and socio-political issues raised by the Games will be addressed by leading artists, students and academics alongside new learning materials and workshops with local schools.
