Podcasts and Credit Framework News from QAA

The Quality Assurance Agency had published two new podcasts and news on the credit framework.


Podcasts

In the first pocast, titled 'Learning and teaching should not be owned by the centre of the university, it should be a partnership between staff and students', Derfel Owen meets Gwen van der Velden (Director of Learning and Teaching Enhancement) and George Charonis (Vice-President Education, Students' Union) at the University of Bath to discuss their approach to student engagement. 

In the second podcast, 'Celebrating 20 years of Access to HE' Derfel Owen meets with Kath Dentith, Head of Access at QAA to discuss Access to HE, how it operates and who it aims to benefit.

Credit Framework News

Credit survey shows solid support for framework
A joint survey by QAA, Universities UK and GuildHE, on the implementation of the Higher education credit framework for England, shows that the vast majority of higher education institutions are using the framework to align credit values for their programmes.

QAA publishes revised introduction to academic credit in higher education in England
QAA has published a revised, straightforward guide to academic credit, offering an introduction to how credit is used in higher education in England. It includes an overview of what credit is and when it is awarded, as well as an explanation of credit accumulation and transfer.
