People 1st Secures Funding for Two Year Programme

The £6.8m that People 1st are to receive from the Employer Investment Fund (EIF) will be used to fund an programme of work across the fields of hospitality, passenger transport, travel and tourism. 

The programme aims to "raise standards and develop the skills of those in hospitality, passenger transport, travel and tourism" through six strands:

  • Helping unemployed people into work
  • Accelerating social mobility
  • Professionalising the industry
  • Achieving economic growth
  • Increasing business investment in skills and reducing wasted public expenditure
  • Aligning employers and stakeholders to deliver sustained growth through skills
