The Hospitality, Leisure, Sport & Tourism Network aims to encourage and broker the sharing of good learning and teaching practice across our subject areas of UK higher education.

A student conference - to explore Olympic and Paralympic Values and Legacies and their relevance and implications to students in the hospitality, leisure, sport and tourism subject grouping - is planned for 10th March 2010 at Bournemouth University.
The event itself will be completely free to students. We hope that Universities and Colleges will each support the travel and associated expenses of three or four students to represent them at the conference. Students will be expected to indicate the support given by their institution in their application for a conference place.
A number of speakers are being invited to present the values associated with the Olympics and the legacies from the Games which have been identified.
An outcome of the conference will be a position paper reflecting the views expressed by students on the implications of Olympic and Paralympic Values and Legacies to themselves personally, to the curricula of their programmes of study, and in their future careers. The event is part of a programme of activities planned by our 2012 Olympics SIG.
We are grateful for the lead being given in its organisation of the conference by students at Bournemouth University.
Further details will be available early in the New Year.
