The Centre built learning environments that fostered students’ abilities to integrate their learning - connecting academic study, reflective self-awareness and experiential learning inside and outside the curriculum. It enhanced students’ academic performance, their employability and their personal confidence to engage successfully with the challenges of a rapidly changing world.
This CETL was built upon excellence in three areas (history, entrepreneurship education and personal development e-portfolios), led by staff recognised nationally for their outstanding achievements. It played an important role in helping the university raise the profile of learning and teaching.
Current Projects:
Second year work:
In the second year the three core enhancement projects detailed above were continued and broadened their remit plus targeted research projects were initiated in four further key areas.
Additionally an Integrative Learning Fund was also launched for competitive bid projects in the area of Integrative Learning across the university during the academic year 06/07.
What is being offered to the wider teaching/subject community:
The CETL ran events and networks for both the internal communities and the wider community including the subject community.
Events:
This CETL along with others in the east Midlands was part of the EMCETLs network; it collaborated on several themed events / workshops during the 06/07 academic year.
