The Hospitality, Leisure, Sport & Tourism Network aims to encourage and broker the sharing of good learning and teaching practice across our subject areas of UK higher education.
The Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL) is used in universities in order to credit students for their prior learning, particularly those who have experience relevant to learning in higher education, but who have not followed a recognised learning qualifications route. Universities usually have a process for calculating and evidencing credit to students.
The Learning from Experience Trust provides further information on learning from experience and information on APEL at the Learning from Experience Trust Website.
