Enhancement Themes in Scotland

A unique ‘Quality Enhancement framework has been designed to support higher education institutions in Scotland in managing the quality of the student learning experience and to provide public confidence in the quality and standards of higher education (www.enhancementThemes.ac.uk/background/default.asp).’

The approach consists of five inter-related aspects:

  • Institution-led review
  • Public information set
  • Effective involvement of students in quality management
  • Enhancement-led institutional review (ELIR)
  • Enhancement Themes
