Institute for Sport, Parks and Leisure (ISPAL)

ISPAL (The Institute for Sport, Parks and Leisure) is the professional membership body for a fast growing industry, representing sport, parks and leisure industry professionals.

ISPAL was formed in January 2007 by the amalgamation of two previous bodies, ILAM (The Institute of Leisure and Amenity Management) and NASD (The National Association of Sports Development). They aim to provide support, advocacy and professional development for those involved in the sports, parks and leisure industries.

The cornerstones of ISPAL’s services can be summarised as follows:

  • Learning and Development
ISPAL provides continuing professional development (CPD) for its members, as well as offering a wide range of training courses at venues across the country. They also offer in-house training courses.
  • Professional Development Board
The recently formed ISPAL Professional Development Board will guide and support the Learning & Development strategy going forwards ensuring that ISPAL fulfils its role in the market place and takes responsibility for promoting high standards of professional skills and expertise to individuals within the industry.
More details can be found in the document Introducing ISPAL (79kb .pdf) at the ISPAL Website.
