Mini-Projects for development and research in learning and teaching

  • Date: 06-11-2009

The Academy’s Engineering Subject Centre is offering funding of up to £3,500 to engineering departments to enable them to take forward development and research mini projects.  Priority will be given to bids that focus on two themes: student engagement; and embedding Education for Sustainable Development (ESD).

Carol Arlett, Assistant Director for the Engineering Subject Centre, said: “Academics and staff who support teaching and learning in engineering can bid for grants.  The funding will help them to progress projects which will lead to the sharing of resources and practices to enhance the learning experience of engineering students.

“Student engagement and sustainable development are two key areas for the Academy and we would particularly welcome bids which will benefit these themes.”

Bids submitted by Friday 18th December 2009 will be assessed at the next panel meeting, with funding decisions announced by the end of January 2010.
