HEA holds its first learning and teaching summit
- Date: 31-10-2011
The Higher Education Academy (HEA) is this week (31 October – 1 November 2011) hosting the first of its new learning and teaching summits which bring together experts from across the sector to discuss themes which impact on learning and teaching.
Each summit will reflect on a different theme and is designed to influence and inform institutional policy on specific learning and teaching issues relating to either one of the HEA’s themes or disciplines. Outputs may include reports, think pieces and recommendations for policy makers and practitioners across UK higher education.
The theme of the first HEA learning and teaching summit is flexible learning. It will address issues including key barriers or enablers which affect the development of flexible learning in relation to the pace of learning, where the learning takes place, and how it is delivered. Specific emphasis will be placed on identifying critical success factors for flexible learning and their implications for institutional change.
The outcomes of the summit will be addressed by senior institutional managers and national policy makers at a follow-up meeting to be held in February 2012.
