The numbers of international students and staff are rising within the UK higher education sector and institutions are becoming increasingly reliant on them for their income and academic development.
We are supporting internationalisation initiatives that enhance the student learning experience. Our focus to date has been on offering support for institutions in the areas of:
- curriculum development to enhance the teaching and learning of all students, regardless of country of origin
- helping ensure staff teaching an increasingly diverse student body have access to relevant information and resources
- development of initiatives to enhance the learning experience of international students
- supporting the sector in engaging with the Bologna process
Our Subject Centres have a number of projects which provide a discipline context; resources from these are available below.
In 2009-11 we will be taking forward the national initiative for Teaching International Students aims to make a major contribution to strengthening the UK international student experience.
