We are increasingly aware of how technology can enhance the student learning experience. Our work with institutions indicates a shift towards an approach which uses technology to enhance core activities, e.g. assessment.
Since the release of the 2005 HEFCE e-learning Strategy, this shift is now reflected in the 2009 Enhancing Learning and Teaching through Technology (ELTT) revision (including a framework for institutions) and the Welsh HEFCW (Higher Education Funding Council for Wales) Enhancement of Learning Strategy
To support these strategies and the student learning experience, the Academy has developed an Enhancement of Learning through Technology (ELT) programme with a range of generic and discipline-based resources and activities:
- Through our network of 24 Subject Centres.
- The Academy/JISC Collaboration Programme has collected a range of resources.
- We are developing a specific ELT Programme with new strands of work:
- Working with other Academy programmes to identify and support their activities.
- Continuing the momentum of Benchmarking and Pathfinder through the Enhancement Academy programme.
- Through EvidenceNet we will provide additional guidance and support with synthesised resources and community engagement.
- We continue to work with JISC on a range of programmes including the Open Educational Resources Programme.
