The first meeting of the joint Academy-QAA Scotland-CRA PDP Forum for academic year 2009-10.
The meeting, entitled, Policy and practice developments for the new Academic Year, presents an opportunity to receive updates on a range of PDP-related policy developments and discuss their implications in more depth with colleagues and to take forward work on research and evaluation during the dedicated afternoon session. Participation is not restricted to those who have been involved up to now but we would like to concentrate on the focal points for work around mentoring, student engagement, feedback from alumni, staff development and the value of reflection (for students and staff). So if one of these is of interest please join us.
Our overall aim for the research and evaluation strand of the Forum is to arrive at our final meeting next June with the ability to report on substantive progress and outcomes which can be shared more widely within and beyond the HE sector.
Prior to the meeting we will provide some feedback and suggestions related to your ideas so far, which we hope will be helpful. Based upon this and any further work you may have undertaken over the summer, the session will allow detailed discussion of and planning for the year ahead.
In addition to generic workshop support for research and evaluation we will also be offering bespoke support for each research group and this session will provide also opportunities for discussion as to how this might most effectively be used. There will also be some funding to help cover research groups' meeting costs outside of the formal Forum meetings.
